Jared Valdez, Psy.D.
Jared Valdez, PsyD received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology from Alliant International University in Los Angeles, CA in 2023. He completed his predoctoral internship at Texas Tech University Health Science Center Department of Psychiatry and completed his postdoctoral clinical psychology fellowship at Kaiser Medical Center in 2024. His second fellowship at the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center of Hawaii began just prior.
Dr. Valdez has worked with patients across the life span to include pediatrics, teens, adults and geriatric patients. His work with children and adolescents includes substantial experience with assessment as well as psychotherapy, ranging from ADHD through mood and trauma-based disorders. He also has experience working with active-duty military, veterans, first responders and medical providers. His experience includes working with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, dissociation, autism, bipolar, psychosis, OCD, substance use, eating disorders, grief & loss, chronic pain, stroke, dementia, oncology, and neurological disorders. Among medical populations, Dr. Valdez has worked with brief and targeted interventions with children, adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of medical concerns, including bleeding disorders, cancer, medial trauma and limb loss. Dr. Valdez takes a multicultural approach ensuring to provide a welcoming and respectful environment to anyone looking for therapy.
Dr. Valdez’s research has primarily focused on hormone deficiencies and the impact on mental health. Other areas of research include alternative therapeutic approaches to improve wellbeing, posttraumatic stress disorder and genetic components to OCD.
In his work as a clinical psychology fellow at CBT Hawaii, Dr. Valdez is being supervised by Hawaii licensed psychologist Dr. Sean Ransom. Prior to his career in psychology, Dr. Valdez served with distinction as an enlisted service member in the U.S. military before being honorably discharged.
